Calling All Filmmakers – Film Submissions Now Open
For this edition of our Unplugged series, we are opening the space to short film submissions.
If you’re a filmmaker, visual storyteller, or creative with a story to share, this is your invitation. We want to give you a platform to showcase your work in an open, accepting, and judgment-free environment.
We will select short films to be screened during the evening. This is about sharing stories, being seen, and holding space for honest dialogue.
Whether your film is personal, experimental, poetic, or reflective — your voice matters here.
Please Read Before You Submit
Film & Discuss | Unplugged is a curated, in-person experience. Submitting a film does not guarantee selection — each piece is reviewed with care and chosen based on how well it aligns with the tone, values, and intention of the space.
More information about the event can be found HERE
Films can be any length up to 12 minutes. A 3-minute grace period is allowed, meaning submissions may be up to 15 minutes in total. Films longer than 15 minutes will not be considered.
Filmmakers must be available to attend the event in person on the 21st of March, as being present is an important part of the shared screening and post-film discussion. This is a space built around connection, not distance.
All screenings are followed by discussions. This is not a critique or judgmental environment — the focus is on appreciating cinema and engaging in meaningful conversation together.
The event itself is intentionally small, with a maximum of 16 attendees, creating a calm, supportive atmosphere where stories can be experienced without pressure.
We ask filmmakers to be transparent about their work. If your film includes sensitive or emotionally challenging themes, please include content notes or trigger warnings so we can support the well-being of everyone in the room.
By submitting, you confirm that you own the rights to your film or have full permission to submit and screen it publicly. Films should be shared via a private streaming link or WeTransfer, following the technical guidance provided.
All communication — including shortlisting, interview invitations, and final decisions — will be sent to the email address you provide, so please ensure your details are accurate and check your inbox regularly.

About the Interviews
Interviews are informal and conversational. They are not auditions or formal assessments — they’re simply a chance for us to meet you, hear more about your work, and ensure alignment with the Unplugged space.
All interviews will take place online on Saturday, 7th of March, running between 11:00am and 3:00pm.
Filmmakers who are shortlisted will be invited to select a 30-minute time slot within this window. The conversation itself will last approximately 15–20 minutes and will be held with members of the Elokyves events and submissions team.
There is no preparation required. Come as you are.
